본문내용
I. Introduction
Japan has once been perceived as the next big thing in the realm of internal economics. However, after the bubble burst in the 1991, Japan has faced the so called “The Lost Decade,” and has not been able to recover fully since then. The fall of Japan as number one can be explained from various perspectives, mainly through economic explanations. However, another crucial lens that clarifies why Japan’s economy has failed is political reasons. And amongst various political causes behind such fall, this essay focuses on three factors: informal networks between the government, the Diet and private banking sectors, the relationship between the Diet and the ruling party, and the connection between the Diet and the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
