Objective of experiment
The objective of this experiment is to obtain a Nusselt Number and the convective heat transfer coefficient by simple experiment, and compares this value with theoretically calculated value.
1. Heat transfer
There are three modes of heat transfer that are heat conduction, convection, and radiation.
1.1.1. conduction-Conduction is the phenomenon that thermal energy transfers from substance of high temperature to substance of lower temperature by physical contact of objects without transferring matter. It occurs mainly inside of solid
1.1.2. radiation-Radiation is the energy emitted by matter as electromagnetic waves and it propagates through the vacuum of space.ex) The heat from the sun, the filament of a light bulb
1.1.3. convection-Convection is the transfer of heat by the movement of fluids which are defined as a gas or liquid. It occurs in the atmosphere or in bodies of water. convection are largely divided into natural convection and forced convection.
