1) General Features
⓵ Isolating Language(고립어)
Chinese is an Isolating language that has no form change of word with the sex(姓), number(數), case(格) and tense. In other words, the from change of word does not happen in Chinese. In contrast, in case of English and Korean which belong to Inflected language, word form can change into various ways. Look at the example.
ⓐ I see him → He saw me
ⓑ 我看他 → 他看了我
In the case of ⓐ(English), if the first person 'I' is used as a subject we use I, but when 'I' is located in the object place 'I' changes its form to 'me'. In the case of the word 'see', it changes into 'saw' in the past tense. In contrast, in Chinese it does not matter whether '我' and '他' are subjective case or objective case. The form of '我' and '他' does not change. Also, the verb '看' that has meaning of 'see/보다' does not change its form.
