I will discuss “the concept of Indigenism in terms of its historical context and social relevance to the pre-Columbian heritage of the past and the Chicano Movement of the present Include in my discussion the counter-concept of Indigenist and how murals appear as a form of resistance to that concept.” (Question 1)
The Mexican Revolution was unable to represent as a simple postwar democratic revolution. In fact, since the revolution, the society of Mexico was regarded as a major challenge for the completion of the establishment of democratic sovereignty. The revolution strengthened self-esteem as a country. That terminated the dictatorship in politics as a response to the colonial ruling in Spain. The causes set up as Mexican national identity to the public. Therefore, I want to describe the movement of the painting which helped to publish a policy of social integration of the government of the “Mexican Revolution”, and in terms of policies of “Indigenismo” at the same time.
