본문내용
Materials having both a hydrophilic and hydrophobic group in a molecule are called surfactants. These surface -active properties appear not only in single molecules, but also block copolymers. These amphiphilic molecules are adsorbed into the interface between water and oil, water and air, oil and air, and they reduce the surface tension or interfacial tension. They can construct many types of super -molecules in water, such as spherical micelles, cylindrical micelles, and vesicles. In this experiment, we examine the representative spherical micelle in super-molecules formed by amphiphilic molecules in water. We vary the concentration of amphiphilic molecules and measure the formation of the micelle, the size of the micelle, and the size distribution of the micelle using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and measure CMC of surfactant.
