OBJECTIVES
In this investigation, the main objective is to learn how to handle mouse as a model animal for laboratory experiment as well as practicing the following procedures: mouse injection, dissection and blood collecting.

EXPERIMENTAL THEORY
Animal Experimentation
Animal experimentation or animal testing involves non-human animals in the laboratory for various investigations, especially for in vivo testing. The research scope is very diverse from pure research such as genetics and behavior studies to applied research such as toxicology tests, biomedical research and cosmetic testing. Regulation regarding animal experimentation is heavily controlled under various degrees from different countries mainly due to several ethically-related issues. The advantage of animal experimentation is that animals are useful in testing the toxicity of newly developed medicine prior to enter any drug clinical stages. Also, mice and rats are especially well-suited for cancer research due to their short lifespan.
