By doing this jar-test experiment, we can check the optimized quantity of coagulant[Al2(S04)3•14~18H20] for coagulation and sedimentation.
Also, we can find the way that how the particles form the floc and settle down through the rapid mixing, slow mixing and settling down processes.
We can figure out about the 'Enmeshment : sweep floc', which is one of the mechanism of destabilization, and analyze that phenomenon through the results of experiment.
And we need to know that the consumed alkalinity as different coagulant dose, and confirm the pH changed.
As the parameter, pH and turbidity have something to do with the coagulant (Alum), we can demonstrate the effects of parameters to coagulation.
In other words, we can confirm and demonstrate the entire course of coagulation & sedimentation and optimized Alum dose.
→ To demonstrate effects of coagulant on the stability of a clay suspension, and coagulation, restabilization, and sweep coagulation by alum coagulant.
