An indicator of the current economic situation in Korea is the GDP growth index. Gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter was 77,952.4 billion won, up 0.7% from the previous quarter.
As a result, the GDP growth rate stood at 0% in the fourth quarter since it recorded 0.7% in the fourth quarter of last year. GDI is at its lowest level in five years and three months after falling in Q2. The above graph shows a steady declining GDP ratio, which means that the economy has entered a long-term low growth rate.
Another indicator of Korea's economic situation is its industrial structure. As can be seen from the graph, the service industry is the largest and the manufacturing industry is the second largest.
Agriculture and fisheries fell rapidly from 45.5% in the 1950s to 2.6% in 2010, a result of FTAs and trade liberalization.
In addition, since the mid-to-late 1990s, informatization has proceeded with computers, the Internet, and mobile phones.
