Fast fashion has been shaping American popular culture. To be specific, the fast fashion industry affects young generation because they are easy to be affected by the fast fashion culture.This paper includes major themes of American studies that how people construct their identity and differentiate through cultures of everyday life. By observing fast fashion culture, we can have interdisciplinary thinking to the major concept of American study. Therefore, in this writing, I am going to show what is fast fashion, and how the fast fashion industry creates American popular culture with supporting evidence.
Many people would not know what exactly the fast fashion is. The fast fashion retailers are made for consumers who want to buy many garments as quickly as possible (Whitehead, 2014).Therefore, the fast fashion industry is also related to consumerism. Because the fast fashion industry is different from the traditional fashion industry, it reflects consumers’ needs quickly.
