The purpose of the writing is about the themes and poetic techniques indicated in Emily Dickinson's poems. Amongst her voluminous poems, some of them, which connote‘death’as a theme, are to be presented in this writing. When it comes to poetic technique, she placed a good many punctuation marks, which make her poems more distinguished and unique.
Prior to this, her philosophical backgrounds derived from religious ideas and social milieu need to be understood. She was brought up in a stern Puritan family background. However, it was when industries and science threatened the spirit of Puritanism, but Amherst, where Dickinson lived, was extremely engulfed by the conservative spirit of Puritanism. Being disillusioned by the obsolete doctrine, she had a feeling of doubt in Puritanism. As one of the intellectual, she could not make a fetish of the austere, absurd and unreasonable spirits.
Her stance for Puritanism was defiant and rebellious. "I am standing alone in rebellion.
