“If there is an accomplice, my compatriot of 20 million is all accomplices.” This is a famous saying by Lee Jae-Myung, a patriotic martyr who attacked Lee Wan-Yong who a symbol for betrayer and Korean traitors in modern Korea. Starting with the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1876, the Korean Empire suffered a perpetual invasion from neighboring powers such as Japan, Qing Dynasty, USA, Germany, France and Russia. In the process, numerous unequal treaties were signed and deprived of various interests, and foreign troops unhindered entered and left the Korean Empire easily. In particular, Japan monopolized the interests of the Korean Empire through the Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War. After passing through the Protectorate Treaty between Korea and Japan concluded in 1905, by completely lose the sovereignty of a nation in 1910 by Japan, the Korean Empire became a colony of Japanese imperialism.
