Let’s think about the novels or stories we have read throughout our lives. Of course, some would have been read for our own, but most of the stories would have been from classes, in which teachers would give us a story and tell us to discuss. Then what about the stories that do not actually have something to discuss?
When I was 16, I was told to read a novel named “The Hatcher,” which was a schoolrecommended book. My school wanted me to get an important lesson from it, but at least then I could not find any moral lesson from the story.
To me, it was just a fun story about a boy trying to survive in a jungle only with a hatcher. However, my teacher analyzed it word by word and tried to take out some lessons from the story, like, “the boy shows the readers the courage and never-give-up-spirit.
