1. By employing supply and demand framework, please explain how price ceiling and price floor result in an inefficient market mechanism. Please use graphs in the analysis.
2. Please explain the concept of consumer surplus and producer surplus by using graphs. Please also explain how an imposition of unit tax generates deadweight loss (excess burden). In so doing, please explain how the tax imposition affects the consumer surplus and producer surplus. Pleas also explain how the elasticity of supply or demand curve affects the size of consumer surplus and producer surplus. Please consult Browning & Zupan’ page 289 and other parts.
