1. Introduction : Need for international cooperation in the context of COVID-19
We are entering a new phase in the face of the unprecedented epidemic of COVID-19. Borders have been closed, the economy has collapsed, and people have been restricted from moving. People are tracked in a structured system wherever they go and whoever they meet. Schools and workplaces have already been reorganized online. In other words, the past two years since the outbreak of COVID-19 have completely changed the world.
In the early stages of the epidemic, the situation seemed to move in the direction of separating borders between countries. Nations prioritized their own citizens and moved in the direction of rejecting new inflows. However, as the COVID-19 situation has been prolonged, we have come to feel the new value of ‘cooperation’, reaffirming the perception that the world is a united community. This is because epidemics occur across national borders, and in the 21st century, it is no longer possible to fully respond to an issue at the national level.
