Ⅰ. Purpose
- Know how to use a calorimeter and accurately measure the enthalpy of a neutralization reaction.
Ⅱ. Background information
When heat is applied to the system, the internal energy changes and the work of the system changes. (Q=∆U+W) And enthalpy refers to the amount of physical and chemical change that occurs under a “constant” pressure, and since it is difficult to measure the enthalpy of a substance, the amount of change is measured in the experiment.
