1. Hong Kong Residential Market
Residential issues are considered the upcoming problems in many countries around the world. Hong Kong can be one of the countries which experiencing severe situations. People who earn a normal average income in Hong Kong cannot afford their residents to live since the price popped up so rapidly. In this situation, people prefer to invest in the residential market than the other form of investment. However, this phenomenon is likely to have a negative economic impact. Hong Kong is not a healthy form of the residential market. Most people have no housing, and residence in a particular region is being set at an extremely higher price. In addition, the price of residential areas is fluctuating, and it has a narrow type of residence that has a great influence on the quality of life. Food, clothing, and shelter are the necessities of life. The problem is that this fundamental necessity remains unsolved. Moreover, the housing production process cannot be run since this process requires high production costs. As a result, observed so far, a vicious cycle continues to occur. In order to solve the problem or make a better result, knowing the fundamental reasons for the issue are important. In Hong Kong Residential Market, unreasonable prices and the form of the residential market could be reasons. In the lecture note, the homeownership rates since 1985 were nearly around 50%. This leads to an increase in fixed costs for the average income people and social inequality. People who do not have their own housing try to get theirs. However, the fixed cost of the rental fee is continuously paid out, and they must save their money at the same time.
