본문내용
I have known Peter Greenaway since I had watched ‘The cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover’. It would show art worlds such as pictures and dramas. It was had different styles of narrative with colourful architectures and unique clothes. The most film was taken inside of the restaurant, and the owner, workers, clients shared all space. Although it was a film about ‘gangster’, it was concerned with a society cause of a stinging satire of the time and society with a love, a betrayal and revenges. Dayana Stetco mentioned that ‘The cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover’ seems to be a map of French Revolution. Moreover, the revolution has become a modern story. In this film, it works as a post-modern consideration on the dilemma of the critic.
There are director’s voice, cover intentions that use many skills included actors, particular settings and a scenario in a film. Especially, Peter Greenaway has created films with his own language, drawing and properties. Besides, he has wonderful abilities how to express the period for the screening. There are easy to recognize and understand but difficult describe.
