In Korea, lots of private schools are boomed with native speaking teachers because their parents prefer native speakers to Korean teachers. They assume that for the early language education, the children can acquire English faster, and pronunciation will be better if they learn from a native speaker. So, some of parents decide to immigrate and most of the people choose the America as a immigrating nation.
America is a very diverse nation. Many immigrants from all over the world come to America for money, jobs and education. To immigrants or a students studying abroad, language is a big obstacle and that is why bilingual education program was established. Bilingual Education is an education program for children whose native language is not english. Students are taught for some part of the day in their native language, with the goal of moving them into mainstream english classes as quickly as possible usually within two to three years. Ideally, such programs allow students to keep up academically because they can learn subject matter in their native language while they learn english. Schools in the United States should provide the bilingual education to immigrants so they can learn enough English to perform in regular classes, accommodate to American culture and prevent students from forgetting their language and culture.
