In the world, there are numerous languages and they all have different way of syntax. There are some differences and similarities between English and Korean especially their eight parts of speech. Obviously, it is very interesting to look at how different and similar the two languages’ the syntax is. This essay explores several differences and similarities of a noun and pronoun between English and Korean language. It also looks at how polite system of the two languages can be effective to a form of pronoun.
The sentence that we use, it is not for words to be listed carelessly and it arranges by regular rules. Syntax is the one of the linguistic fields which confirms relation between words composing a sentence. "In linguistic, syntax is the study of the rules that govern the structure of sentences and which determine their relative grammatically. The term syntax can also be used to refer to these rules themselves, as in ‘syntax of a language’" (Syntax, 2007). To part of the Korean and English speech are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and exclamations in common. Basic of thissix branch part of speech which exists commonly the function is used and it is same but to be not only the common point which stands also the difference exists (Sohn, 1999, p.203).
