Introduction
I am Korean and our history cannot be developed without Japan. Japan definitely has affected a lot in the history of Korea although they despoiled and got stringent my country in the past. Recently, they even persist that one of Korean island is originally belong to their territory. Because of these reasons, for most of Koreans, including me, Japan is the closest country geographically, but the farthest country psychologically. However, there is one thing we cannot deny. Japan is definitely one of the strongest countries in the world and their strong national power is due to their impudence. Japan is of a help toward promoting positive image of Asians. Although I don’t like much Japan as a Korean, I’m proud of Japan as an Asian. Antipathy against Japan is still alive in my mind, but I am envious of their national power and richness. This is why I select Japan for term project.

Japanese Mass Culture
It is no exaggeration to say that Japanese mass culture represents Asian culture. Japanese culture has already become globalizational and has affected on not only Asian countries but also American and European countries. When I have been in Europe, for example, I could find Japanese restaurant everywhere and a lot of people enjoyed sushi or sashimi. Moreover, sushi and sashimi have been regarded as a luxurious food in Europe.
Japanese animations are also very popular all over the world. ‘Slam dunk’, ‘Dragon ball’, and ‘Pocket monster’ are good examples. When I was in high school, all my friends were wildly excited at Japanese animations. I hardly found people who hadn’t seen those animations at that time. I’ve seen that many European youths even establish Japanese animation forums and exchange their information.
