Ⅰ. Introduction
The term oscillation means the variation, typically in time, of some measure about a central value (often a point of equilibrium) or between two or more different states. One of the most common examples of this motion is swing and pendulum. And there is a clear difference in motion whether the subject oscillates with or without any forces. If the oscillation was produced by a simple oscillator or equivalent mechanical system at an external periodic driving force, we called `forced oscillation`. We know that in reality, a spring won`t oscillate for ever. Frictional forces will diminish the amplitude of oscillation until eventually the system is at rest, and this kind of oscillation is called `damped oscillation`. In this experiment we will discuss about especially forced oscillation based on simple harmonic oscillation and research about fundamentals of this motion.
