A light exists in Spring and it gives color to the lawn and the tree. The landscape described in this poem is like the paintings of the impressionists who capture the light of moments and express it on their works. However, the atmosphere of the scenery is not light. Rather, it is heavy and dim. Fields are described as solitary in this poem and the speaker says March is scarcely here. The poet feels sorrow caused by loss and it affects feeling of satisfaction.
On “A Bird came down the Walk-” (328)
Dickinson mainly wrote poems about death. However, she describes the beauty of nature observing a bird closely in this poem. She is friendly with nature and feels pleasure from it.
