본문내용
I am going to present individualistic cultures vs. collectivistic cultures. What is individualistic culture? Dictionary definition is the belief or practice of allowing people to do things their own way without being influenced by other people. Today, I called this “I “cultures.
What are collectivistic cultures then? Collectivistic culture is the patterns of values and learned behaviors that are shared and transmitted from generations to generations by the members of a social group. I called “we” cultures. I would like to talk about” I” culture and “we” culture.
“individualistic cultures as we see in United States, Canada predominantly socialize their members to view themselves as individuals and to prioritize their personal goals,” but “Collectivistic cultures if we compare Guatemala, South Korea, Japan predominantly socialize their members to view themselves as members of the larger social group and to place the group’s concern ahead of everything else.
