Hwaomgyong Mundap(華嚴經問答, the Catechism on the Avatamsaka-sutra) handed down in Japan was not only called as another title of Hyangsang Mundap(香象問答), but also clearly defined that it was written by Bubjang(法藏). According to a study on the literary style and the contents of this book, however, it's not Bubjang's but the work of followers of Uisang(義相) in Silla. Indebted to this academic fruits, the present writer asserted Hwaomgyong Mundap is a different version of Chudonggi(錐洞記) after ascertaining that most of the contents between two documents corresponded by contrasting Chudonggi and Hwaomgyong Mundap. But, Park Seo-yeon recently maintain that Hwaomgyong Mundap was written referring to Chudonggi in Japan. As her assertion is completely different with mine, I critically examined her view.Song Goseungjeon(宋高僧傅)says, Dosinjang(道身章) and Chuhyul Mundap(錐穴問答)the same as Jitonggi(智通記) are what his disciple recorded Uisang's lectures. The former was arranged by Dosin(道身) while the latter was done by Jitong(智逼). Descriptions on Ye-ta-bul-ji-ui(禮他佛之意) and Ban-jung-bang-pyon (反情方便) in Dosinjang accord with that of Hwaomgyong Mundap. This is an important due to prove my view that Hwaomgyong Mundap is a different version of Chudonggi. Park Sea-yean concluded Hwaomgyong Mundap wasn't written by followers of Uisang because she paid attention to what Shipbulseol(十佛說)in Hwaomgyong Mundap isn't identical with that of Gogi(古記) which Uisang preached to his disciples like Jinjung(眞定), jitong and so on at Daerobang(大草房) in Mt, Taebaek(太白). Although there are expressive differences about Shipbulseol between two documents, however, the substances are hardly different. The most important thing is what Chudonggi is almost equal to Hwaomgyong Mundap Therefore, my view Hwaomgyong Mundap is a different version of Chudonggi is still reasonable.
