The current study is to determine differences between two methods; one is atraditional method for the division of polinomial, the other is a method using identical
equation. A strategy of using identical equation is a simple method which is presented
like A = BQ + R . When this method is using, answers of equations will be presented
within in one row. And the answers can be presented from left to right. Therefore
students with visual impairments and low vision can easily solve those equation problems
with using braille. For this current research, 27 students at schools for the blind located
in Seoul. 27 subjects were randomly included into two different groups; a experimental
group and a control group. Tests were implements in terms of speed and acuity. Those
tests were implemented at 3 periods(before, after and far after). The results were analyzed
through SPSS. Based on the results of the independent t-test, a method using identical
equation is more effective than a traditional method for the division of polinomial in
terms of both speed and acuity. Finally the implications of this study is addressed and
limitations of the current study was provided based on the results. Moreover the ideas
of future study was suggested.
