Nowadays, most people want to improve their quality of life, especially their health, which is very important for one’s life. To lead a healthy life, food is a hot issue in not only Korea but also other countries because people can prevent a lot of diseases through controlling food. In recent Korean society, food is a major interest. The Korean government even has several plans to globalize Korean food. According to a Korean Times article, “As a first step to globalize `hansik,` or Korean cuisine, campaigns both at the government and private level will look to increase the number of Korean restaurants overseas to 40,000 by 2017, and promote the uniqueness and healthy nature of the food” (Kim). These government strategies show a big effort to globalize Korean food. In terms of nutrition, Korean food is excellent.
