In general, speakers assume certain information is already known by their listeners.
일반적으로, 말하는 사람(화자)은 화자가 말하려는 어떤 정보를 ‘이미 듣는 사람(청자)이 알고있다’라고 가정한다.
Because it is treated as known, such information will generally not be stated and consequently will count as part of what is communicated but not said.
왜냐하면 이 정보는 알려진 것으로 여겨지기 때문이다. 이러한 정보는 일반적으로 언급되지 않을 것이다 그리고 결과적으로 이 정보는 단지 말하여지지 않는 의사소통의 일부분으로 생각될 것이다.
The technical terms presupposition and entailment are used to describe two different aspects of this kind of information.
